About John Lippert
I attended the Cooper Union and received a BFA in 1989. After attending Skowhegan, I immediately started a 30+ year career as a fine arts and architectural paintings conservator. I am a partner in Foreground Conservation and Decorative Arts, which specializes in the restoration of historic decorated rooms and fine art. I have continued to make paintings throughout. Often, the concerns of my artwork reflect the diverse range of artworks in the conservation studio and jobsites. In my artwork,I try to reflect concerns of pattern, energy and abstraction that I see in Tibetan thangkas, Pattern & Decoration, psychedlic art and artists like Jules Olitski and Lary Poons.
